Okay, here is Dollarz house. At last slowly getting into the blogging world. I guess it will be good to reflect back at a later date and read what we have written, how stressed we were, the ups and downs.
Well we started building towards the 3rd week into October 2009. Things have been progressing well so far. We were getting into the habit of regularly visiting our block almost on a daily basis when it 1st started. The Christmas period certainly gave us a break also as we knew the tradies would be off for 3 wks which meant we weren't going out daily. We knew there was nothing new to see. Prior to the Christmas break-up the bricks were done and we were at lock-up. Pretty fast in my opinion. When they re-commenced work the bricks had been cleaned within that 1st week. Oh, what a difference cleaning them makes. I totally love the blue bricks and also how the initial vanilla bricks actually looked cream (which is not what they looked like compared to the sample). I was a bit upset and was hoping by cleaning the bricks would remove the yellowness/creaminess from them. Now they look like the sample so much, much happier. The blue bricks turned out 150% better than what I expected. They aren't damaged either which is a bonus as from what I have read they can damage easily.
So now as of 30.01.2010 the cornices have been completed and the cabinets etc arrive this week. Exciting times. I hope we like everything! The tiles will be exciting and my 2 fave parts of the house will be the kitchen and ensuite.
Congrats on finally getting your blog up and running. It's exciting to be able to watch your progress too. I look forward to seeing updates of further progress (e.g those gorgeous blue bricks your talking about and being plastered. Of course the cabinets to soon follow). Thanks for sharing. I will be sure to check back regularly for updates.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tam. Great to see your house is coming along well. Your cabinets are coming along well too. Exciting. Yes I have to load more photos and work out the blog features.
